The Municipality of
Woollahra is a Local
Government Area in the Eastern
Suburbs of Sydney,
in the state of New South
Wales, Australia. The administrative centre of the Municipality of
Woollahra is located on New South Head Road at Double
Bay.
Residents of the municipality are among the most profligate users of
water in Sydney. Sydney Water reports that in 2002/2003 the 9,147 single
dwellings in the area used an average 409,000 litres compared to the
214,000 litres used by the no less fragrant residents of Leichhardt.
This was the third time the municipality topped the league table. By
2007/2008 the usage rate had fallen to a still table topping 283,000
litres per household.
Woollahra is famous for its quiet,
tree-lined residential streets and village-style shopping centre.
